Topsail Island is a twenty-six mile long barrier island off the North Carolina coast.  Commonly known as a sanctuary for sea turtles, as well as for those seeking superb beaches, clean water and quiet, natural splendor.  The area consists of three main beach communities - North Topsail Beach, Surf City and Topsail Beach. 

Surfers cruise and choose lines on the waves, while fishermen toss theirs off the piers, both enjoying what the ocean provides on a daily basis.  No trip to the island is complete without a visit to the Karen Beasley Sea Turtle Rescue and Rehabilitation Center in Topsail Beach, or  the Missiles and More Museum, which reveals the island’s fascinating history as a top secret missile launch site during World War II.  Topsail is the kind of place made for memorable family beach vacations, soaking in some sunny rays, or relaxing in the many sources of tepid water. 

It is cutely tucked away and off the beaten path of North Carolina’s better known beaches. However, if more people and social activities like movies and more expansive shopping is your cup of tea, it's an easy hour’s drive or less to Wilmington to the south, and Jacksonville and USMC Camp Lejeune to the north.
