The Tospsail Island, N.C., area, including North Topsail Beach, Surf City and Topsail Beach, has a small but alluring shopping scene. You won’t find all the familiar name-brand chain stores (except for the grocery store and drugstore), but you will find well-stocked, locally owned and operated stores and shops, and you’ll likely be greeted by the owner while you shop.
Surf City, the commercial hub of the island, is where most gift shops, grocery stores, tackle shops, surf shops and kayak outfitters are located — everything needed to enjoy a trip to the beach. But don’t overlook the shopping treasures to be found elsewhere on the island.
